Good Day!

My name is Margaret Maag and I am so very pleased to be your workshop presenter on December 3, 2006 in beautiful Sydney! I look forward to meeting and working with all of you throughout the full-day workshop on dynamic Web 2.0 applications.



Here is a preliminary outline of our busy interactive day!

09:30 am: Introductions and Discovering Workshop Learning Objectives

10:00 am: A general overview of emerging technologies used in education, such as:

blogs, wikis, podcasts, writely, eluminate, profcast, wetpaint, ajax, etc.

10:30 am : How to create a blog! Create your own blog. Learn how to post to the workshop/conference blogspots

11:30 am How to create a podcast using Garage Band! Create your own enhanced podcast!

12:30 - 13:30: Lunch (staff common room, 401)

13:40: Break out into groups of two and choose an application for an educational settting. Develop learning objectives for your learners (and, who are your learners?) and state the purpose of the technological tool(s) in the learning environment.

14:15: Create a blog and podcast for your educational or work setting.

15:15 : Share your work with the whole group. How may you use the Web v. 2.0 applications in a different context?

15:15-16:30: Discuss other Web v. 2.0 applications and wrap up the day! :-)
